Agenda for 9/25/08

Here is what we will be talking about at the next meeting:

1. T-shirts:
-problem: cost of shirt is actually $12 instead of $10. The price went up because of the
number we ordered was low and the number of screens we wanted. If this is a problem,
just let me know!
-please pay me ASAP (checks made out to Kennedy High School)
2. Volunteer at headquarters? How is that going? What are you doing?
3. Wed nights- who is going? Who should be going?
4. Mock election- Mr Evans is in charge- see him if you want to help out.
5. Homecoming- Parade next week!
THE FLOAT NEEDS TO BE FIGURED OUT BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE MEETING!
-Mr Beatty has offered to drive his convertible- might be the easiest solution to the
transportation issue!
-Handouts? Candy?
-SOMEONE needs to sign up with Mr B ASAP!
-Who will be in the "float"

They are going to try their hardest to get them to me by September 30th! Keep your fingers crossed!

The First Debate

The first presidental debate is this Friday, September 26th at 8pm.

Does anyone want to host a debate party at their house? If so, let me know and I can spread the word!

Mock Election

I talked to the Social Studies department and Mr. Evans is doing the mock election. I am sure that he will need some help- so check with him to see what you can do to help out!

Young Dems Night

Every Wednesday 6:30 at the Linn County Democrat Headquarters in Young Dems nights.

This is a great chance to meet students from all over the metro area that are involved with the Democratic party.

There is a short meeting, followed by volunteer opportunities.

Try to make this a priority over the next few weeks!

ALSO, if you cannot make this meeting, talk to Andrea Nemecek- she is setting up some times on the weekend to volunteer!

Homecoming Float

At the meeting on 9/18, discussion was held about the Kennedy Homecoming Parade on Wednesday October 1st.

Ideas were put together, and we will finalize plans over at the next meeting.
Ideas:
-need a truck and trailor (FYI- Mr Beatty offered to drive his convertable if we want that instead!)
-candy?
-supplies from Linn County Headquarters?

a. Large donkey on front, quote on back- it is the easiest and fastest turn around
b. Figure out
i. Color of shirt
1. we can do half order one color, half another- if we cant agree!
2. traditional colors would be best (navy, gray, white, black)
ii. who wants one
iii. size
c. Cost will be $10. Make checks to Kennedy High School or $10 cash.
d. Orders need to be into me by September 23rd by 3pm- including money!!!!!

T-shirt orders

So, t-shirts orders are underway!
We have 20 orders in already! I know some people were not at the meeting to place their order, so if you could stop by room 172 or email me (ckollasch@cr.k12.ia.us) by Tuesday, September 23rd with your size, that would be great.

Feel free to let others know about the order- and have them stop by too!

The t-shirts are $10 and if you pay by check, please make them out to Kennedy High School.

You need to pay for them as soon as possible. I would really prefer that you pay by September 30th.

They are black t-shirts with the democrat donkey of the front and an obama quote on the back.
